The World of “The Dangers in My Heart”
Premise of the Original Manga
The Dangers in My Heart follows Kyotaro Ichikawa, a middle school student who initially presents as a brooding loner with dark fantasies. He secretly admires Anna Yamada, the beautiful and popular class idol. However, as Kyotaro observes Anna’s own quirky personality and as she becomes friendly toward him, he begins to warm up to her. Their relationship gradually develops, and they eventually fall in love.
Seven Seas Entertainment, which licenses the manga in English, describes the plot as: “Ichikawa Kyotaro, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school’s social ladder, secretly believes he’s the tortured lead in some psychological thriller. He spends his days dreaming up ways to disrupt his classmates’ peaceful lives and pining after Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro’s not nearly the troubled teen he pretends to be…and it turns out Anna’s a bit odd herself!”
