Acclaimed manga artist Kotoyama has launched a new short series for their popular Call of the Night (also known as Yofukashi no Uta) manga, titled Yofukashi no Uta -Rakuen-hen- (Call of the Night -Paradise Arc-). This exciting development comes after the original Call of the Night manga concluded its serialization in January 2024.

The Return to the Night

The new short manga series was revealed in the 30th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine on June 25, with its official launch slated for the magazine’s subsequent issue on July 2. This initiative brings fans back into the captivating world of Call of the Night, offering a fresh narrative arc titled “Paradise Arc.”

Background of Call of the Night

Kotoyama’s Call of the Night manga gained significant popularity for its unique blend of romantic comedy and supernatural elements. The series, which began in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in August 2019, followed the nocturnal adventures of Ko Yamori, a human boy seeking to become a vampire, and Nazuna Nanakusa, a charismatic vampire. The manga concluded its run in January 2024, with its 20th and final compiled book volume released in March 2024.

Anime Adaptation and Future Prospects

The Call of the Night manga also received an anime television series adaptation, which premiered its first season in July 2022. Fans can anticipate further animated adventures, as a second season of the anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2025. The launch of Yofukashi no Uta -Rakuen-hen- provides an opportune continuation of the story, coinciding with the heightened anticipation for the anime’s return.
