The upcoming anime adaptation of Jun Mayuzuki’s Kowloon Generic Romance has unveiled fresh details, including a new cast member, the theme songs, and its official premiere date. The series is set to begin broadcasting in Japan on TV Tokyo and other stations starting April 5, 2025.
New Cast Member Announced
A new cast member has been announced for the anime. Kengo Kawanishi will be voicing the character Yulong, a researcher working with Hebinuma to uncover the mysteries of Kowloon.
Theme Songs Revealed
The opening theme song will be “Summertime Ghost” performed by Wednesday Campanella. The ending theme song is “Koi no Retronym” (“Retronym of Love”) by mekakushe.
Premiere Date
Kowloon Generic Romance will premiere on April 5, 2025, in Japan on TV Tokyo and other stations.

Kowloon Generic Romance is a science fiction/romance manga series by Jun Mayuzuki, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since November 2019. Yen Press publishes the English language version.
The story is set in the Kowloon Walled City, a dystopian town brimming with nostalgia, where the past, present, and future converge. It follows Reiko Kujirai, a real estate agent, as a tale of romance unfolds amid the extraordinary lives of the men and women working within the city.
