What is “Let This Grieving Soul Retire!” About?
“Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe Is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party” (original title: Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) is a fantasy series based on the light novels written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko. The story follows Krai Andrey, the supposed leader of the elite treasure hunter party known as “The Grieving Souls.” Despite his friends’ belief that he possesses immense strength and clairvoyant intellect, Krai is, in reality, quite weak and often lucky or unlucky, depending on the situation.
The series humorously chronicles Krai’s reluctant hero’s journey, as he constantly tries to avoid danger and retire early, while his powerful childhood friends misinterpret his actions as ingenious strategies, further cementing his reputation as “Thousand Tricks.” His antics and desire for an early retirement often lead to unexpected glory and headaches.
