Production Details
Let’s Go Karaoke! is produced by Doga Kobo, with Asami Nakatani at the helm as director. The series composition is handled by Yoshimi Narita, ensuring a faithful adaptation of Yama Wayama’s original work. Mai Matsuura is responsible for the character designs, while Takurō Iga composes the music.
Storyline
The story begins with Satomi Oka, a worried middle school student gearing up for his final choir competition. His life takes an unexpected turn when he’s approached by Kyouji Narita, a yakuza member, who insists, “Let’s go karaoke!”. Narita’s request stems from a karaoke contest held by his boss, where the worst singer faces the undesirable fate of receiving a tattoo chosen and applied by the boss himself. Reluctantly, Oka agrees to coach Narita, leading to a series of one-on-one karaoke sessions between a middle schooler and a gangster.
