“Let’s Play” Anime’s Plot and Original Japanese Production
The “Let’s Play” anime follows Samara “Sam” Young, a Los Angeles-based game developer on the verge of achieving her dreams with her first video game, “Ruminate.” However, her aspirations hit a snag when a popular streamer gives her game a scathing review. To make matters more complicated, Sam discovers that the troublesome critic is now her new neighbor. The series delves into a comedic and romantic narrative exploring themes of gaming, memes, and social anxiety.
The original Japanese anime adaptation is directed by Daiki Tomiyasu at Studio OLM. Aya Matsui is responsible for the series composition, while Saki Ebisawa designed the characters based on Ebimo’s original concepts. Conisch is composing the anime’s music. The Japanese broadcast premiered on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block on October 1, 2025. Toshinobu Kubota performs both the opening theme song “1,2, Play” and the ending theme song “Left & Right”.
