The manga series Kirisaki Karin wa Korosasenai (Karin Kirisaki Won’t Let Me Kill), penned by Light Tuchihi and illustrated by Akiyuki Amemoto, has officially concluded its serialization. The final chapter appeared in the October issue of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, published on Friday. The series, known for its unique blend of assassin action and romantic comedy, will see its third and final compiled book volume ship on October 10.
The Journey of an Assassin Seeking Normalcy
Kirisaki Karin wa Korosasenai captivated readers with its distinctive premise. The story centers on Karin Kirisaki, a highly trained assassin whose life takes an unexpected turn during a mission to eliminate a female manga artist. While attempting to fulfill her professional duties, Karin encounters the artist’s serialized manga, “Tokimero,” which profoundly impacts her perspective.
Inspired by the heartwarming portrayal of adolescent school life within “Tokimero,” Karin decides to abandon her life as a hitman. She embarks on a quest for a normal student life, a stark contrast to her violent upbringing. However, her past proves difficult to escape, as her former organization dispatches another assassin to pursue her, bringing her dangerous world directly into her new school environment. The series explored themes of redemption, self-discovery, and the challenges of leaving a dark past behind, all wrapped in a “shonen” and “school life” romantic comedy setting.
