Break Blade: A Retrospective
Break Blade is an action and mecha series set in the continent of Cruzon, where people are born with the ability to control quartz, a form of energy that allows them to manipulate objects and power machinery, including massive যুদ্ধ machines called “Golems”. However, some individuals, like the protagonist Lygart Arrow, are “un-sorcerers,” lacking the ability to use magic.
When the kingdom of Krishna becomes embroiled in war with the nation of Athens, Lygart becomes involved due to his unique ability to pilot an ancient and powerful Golem that no one else can operate. As old friends turn into enemies on the battlefield, Lygart and his allies must navigate a conflict filled with political intrigue and personal sacrifice.
The Break Blade manga was initially serialized in Shōnen Blood in 2006 before moving to FlexComix Blood and finally to Comic Meteor. The series concluded in October 2022 and was compiled into 20 tankōbon volumes.
