Manga Up! Global has officially added Coma Hashii’s manga adaptation of Yuuri Seo’s novel series, “The Saintess Recruited a Doting King Husband” (original Japanese title: Seijo ga “Amayakashite Kureru Yasashii Danna-sama” o Boshū Shitara Kokuō Heika ga Rikkōho Shitekita), to its English-language catalog. The series became available on Thursday.
About the Series
“The Saintess Recruited a Doting King Husband” follows the story of Stacy, a powerful saintess who has risen to a high position within the church. However, in a male-dominated society, her cruel father views her primarily as a pawn for political marriages.
Tired of being manipulated, Stacy devises a clever plan: she creates a list of eight highly unreasonable, non-negotiable, and self-indulgent conditions for any potential husband, believing that no one could possibly meet them, thus ensuring her continued singlehood.
Her plan takes an unexpected turn when the King himself steps forward, claiming to meet every single one of her demanding requirements. What began as a half-serious checklist for a “perfect husband” quickly transforms into a royal engagement.
Background of the Adaptation
The original web novel series by Yuuri Seo first launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) platform in May 2022. Square Enix has published the novel volumes, with the second volume released in October 2023, featuring illustrations by Masami. Coma Hashii’s manga adaptation is serialized on the Manga Up! website, and Square Enix shipped its third volume on March 7.
