The highly anticipated “Marriage Toxin” TV anime has dropped its inaugural trailer and revealed a significant expansion to its voice cast, alongside a confirmed premiere window of April 2026. The announcement, made by the “MARRIAGETOXIN Project,” also showcased a new main visual, giving fans a vibrant glimpse into the upcoming adaptation from Studio BONES Film.
The series, based on the manga by Joumyaku and Mizuki Yoda, promises a unique blend of “hitman x marriage swindler” action, centered on an assassin’s quest to find a bride.

The newly released trailer provides the first animated look at the “Marriage Toxin” universe, featuring protagonist Hikaru Gero, an elite assassin from the Poison Masters’ Gero Family, and Mei Kinosaki, a cunning marriage swindler. The promotional video highlights battle sequences showcasing Gero’s formidable skills with a poison needle, alongside glimpses of the diverse and charming characters he will encounter on his unusual mission. The trailer also teases the array of deadly assassins who will stand in the duo’s path as they navigate the underworld in pursuit of the “ultimate marriage.”

While Haruki Ishiya and Shion Wakayama were previously confirmed as the voices of Hikaru Gero and Mei Kinosaki, respectively, the latest announcement introduces six additional cast members who will bring key characters to life. These new additions include:
Kyoko Himekawa (Voiced by Anna Nagase)
Anna Nagase joins the cast as Kyoko Himekawa, a character dedicated to recovering unjustly taken art. Described as highly skilled in communication, Kyoko has a deep affection for sharks, collecting shark-themed merchandise and movies. Nagase expressed her excitement, noting the manga’s surprising combination of “marriage hunting” and “hitmen.”
Shizuku Ushio (Voiced by Mariya Ise)
Mariya Ise takes on the role of Shizuku Ushio, also known as the “Water Master.” Shizuku is characterized as a thorough and businesslike underworld figure who always completes her tasks with precision and is perpetually clad in a diving suit.
Shiori Ureshino (Voiced by Asaki Yuikawa)
Asaki Yuikawa voices Shiori Ureshino, a college student and the heir to the major party supply corporation, Balzak. Shiori is portrayed as shy and overly considerate, striving to overcome these traits, with a hobby for magic tricks that bring smiles to others. Yuikawa commented on Shiori’s growth throughout the story, driven by her sincerity and the influence of Gero and others.
Genya Naruko (Voiced by Soma Saito)
Soma Saito is cast as Genya Naruko, a direct descendant of the “Sound Master” lineage. Genya possesses a distinctive aura, unique way with words, and considerable popularity among women due to his handsome appearance. He has developed peculiar methods to relax, which are essential for utilizing his abilities.

Piichi Nakagawa (Voiced by Simba Tsuchiya)
Simba Tsuchiya plays Piichi Nakagawa, an “ordinary human” with extraordinary abilities that surpass even a Master. Piichi boasts exceptional information-processing skills and superhuman physical prowess, though he requires over 10 hours of sleep daily to function optimally, after which his body can heal almost any injury. Tsuchiya described Piichi as embodying “love” itself, carrying both kindness and madness.
Additionally, Haruka Shiraishi has been cast as Akari Gero, and Isamu Yusen as Toshiki Hanamaki, further rounding out the extensive cast.

The “Marriage Toxin” anime is being produced by BONES Film, a studio renowned for its work on popular titles such as My Hero Academia and Gachiakuta. Motonobu Hori, known for his directorial work on Carole & Tuesday and Metallic Rouge, is helming the series. Kimiko Ueno is handling series composition and scripts, while Kohei Tokuoka serves as character designer and chief animation director. The music for the series is being composed by Taisei Iwasaki and yuma yamaguchi.
Other confirmed staff members include Yurika Sako for sub-character design, Kotono for costume design, Ayumi Nagaki and Ryo Hirata for prop design, Toshiki Amata for art design, and Bihou for art. This leads him to Mei Kinosaki, a skilled marriage swindler, and together they embark on a “marriage-hunting battle action” mission to find Hikaru a wife and avert his family’s crisis. The series is serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app.
