Voice actress Megumi Han, known for her roles as Gon Freecss in Hunter × Hunter and Kana Arima in Oshi no Ko, will perform the theme song for the upcoming fourth film in the Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 series. The song is set to launch on September 30, ahead of the film’s theatrical premiere in Japan on October 10. Han also notably portrays the character Sasha in the film series, a role her mother, veteran voice actress Keiko Han, originated in the 1980 Be Forever Yamato movie.
The Latest Chapter: “Mizuiro no Sasha”
The fourth installment of the Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 saga is titled “Mizuiro no Sasha” (The Aqua Sasha) and is slated to open in Japanese theaters on October 10. This continues the seven-part film series, which remakes and reinterprets the original 1980 film Be Forever Yamato and incorporates elements from Space Battleship Yamato III. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199.
Megumi Han’s Role as Sasha
Megumi Han has taken on the pivotal role of Sasha, the niece of protagonist Susumu Kodai, beginning with the second film in the Rebel 3199 series. Sasha is a critical character in the unfolding narrative, carrying a significant legacy within the Yamato universe. This casting is particularly noteworthy as Megumi Han’s mother, Keiko Han, voiced Sasha in the original Be Forever Yamato film. Keiko Han also currently plays Mother Desarium in the remake series, creating a unique mother-daughter voice acting duo in the franchise.
