The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Aya Hirakawa’s romantic comedy manga, ‘Mikadono San Shimai wa Angai, Choroi’ (The Three Mikadono Sisters Are Surprisingly Easy), has revealed that Yoshino Aoyama will be voicing Miwa Mikadono, the youngest of the three sisters. This highly anticipated anime is set to debut in 2025.
Yoshino Aoyama Cast as Genius Shogi Player Miwa Mikadono
Yoshino Aoyama will be lending her voice to Miwa Mikadono, the third daughter in the Mikadono family. Miwa is portrayed as a rising star and a genius in the world of shogi, a Japanese board game resembling chess. The anime’s official website released a character visual and an interview video with Aoyama to commemorate the casting announcement.
The Mikadono Sisters and the Protagonist
Besides Yoshino Aoyama, the cast includes:
- Minami Hinata as Yū Ayase, the protagonist.
- Yurina Amami as Kazuki Mikadono, the eldest sister.
- Aoi Koga as Niko Mikadono, the second sister.
Production Team
Tadahito Matsubayashi is directing the anime at P.A. Works, with Yūsuke Inoue in charge of character design.
Story Overview
The story centers around Yū Ayase, the son of the beautiful, athletic, and intelligent Subaru Ayase. While Yū seems to have inherited only his mother’s good looks, he finds himself enrolled in a high-class school and under the care of his mother’s friend. He moves into their house and begins living with the three Mikadono sisters, each exceptionally talented but with their own vulnerabilities.
Manga Origins
Aya Hirakawa launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in December 2021. As of December 18, 2024, Shogakukan has published 12 compiled book volumes of the manga.
