Minako Kotobuki has officially joined the voice cast of the upcoming anime adaptation of “Kamiina Botan, Yoheru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana” (also known as “Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk”), taking on the role of Kanade Gujo. The announcement, made on Friday, September 26, 2025, also included the release of a character visual and reveal trailer for Kotobuki’s character. The yuri comedy series is slated to premiere in April 2026.
Kotobuki Expresses Enthusiasm for Role
Minako Kotobuki shared her excitement about portraying Kanade Gujo, noting her personal preference for slowly sipping alcohol, which aligns with the series’ themes. She expressed how she was drawn to the light and pleasant atmosphere of the original manga by Hey since her audition, hoping the anime will convey the delicate emotions present in the work.
Expanding the Voice Cast
Kotobuki’s casting adds another notable name to the growing ensemble for “Kamiina Botan, Yoheru Sugata wa Yuri no Hana.” Previously announced cast members include Sayumi Suzushiro as the titular character Botan Kamiina, and Yoshino Aoyama as Ibuki Tonami. The production team has been steadily revealing new cast members each Friday over a six-week period.

Plot Overview
The story revolves around Botan Kamiina, a 20-year-old university student living in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. Her life takes a tipsy turn when she experiences her first alcoholic drink after meeting Ibuki Tonami, the leader of her dormitory. Ibuki, who enjoys alcohol but struggles with drinking in public due to hiccups, quickly develops a friendship with Botan. As Botan is new to drinking, she spends her time exploring various types of alcohol, often becoming bolder and saying surprising things when tipsy, leading to a “tipsy teasing girl’s comedy”. The series beautifully captures the delicate emotional exchanges and daily lives of the characters.
Production Team
The anime television series adaptation is being produced by Studio Soigne. Takashi Sakuma is directing the series, with Shuntaro Tozawa serving as assistant director. Yoko Yonaiyama is handling the series scripts, while Kou Yoshinari is responsible for character designs. Kana Hashiguchi is composing the music. Yusuke Matsuo and Miyachi are the main animators for the project.
