The upcoming anime film, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved, has revealed additional cast members and its theme song, adding to the anticipation for its release. The film is based on the popular manga series Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, a slice-of-life comedy with fantasy elements that follows the relationship between Miss Kobayashi and Tohru, a dragon who transforms into a human maid.
New Cast Additions
At AnimeJapan 2025, it was announced that Fumihiko Tachiki and Nobunaga Shimazaki have joined the cast.
Fumihiko Tachiki will voice Kimun Kamui, Kanna’s biological father.
Nobunaga Shimazaki will voice Azad.
These additions promise to add depth to the storyline, especially considering the movie will focus on Kanna Kamui as she is torn between two families

fhána to Perform Theme Song
The film’s opening theme song, “Namida no Parade” (Tearful Parade), will be performed by fhána. fhána is known for performing the opening themes for the first and second seasons of the anime series, “Aozora no Rhapsody” and “Ai no Supreme!”, respectively.

Story Focus
The film will focus on Kanna Kamui as she is torn between her human and dragon families. In A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved, the story will set up emotional and personal stakes, with the found family of Miss Kobayashi, Tohru the monstrous dragon maid and Kanna the dragon child enjoying everyday life together until Kanna’s biological father, Kimun Kamui, arrives to take his young daughter back home to the fantasy world from which they originated. Kanna must then choose between the family of dragons and humans who love her and the family she shares blood with — one that may need her aid in the fantasy realm’s affairs.
Release Information
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved will premiere in Japan on June 27, 2025, in 199 theaters. The film will have immersive 4DX and MX4D screenings.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a manga series by Coolkyoushinja that began in May 2013. It follows Kobayashi, an ordinary office worker, who saves the life of a dragon named Tohru.
