Anju Hino’s manga adaptation of Gakuto Coda’s Missing novel series is set to conclude on May 27. Launched in May 2023, the manga will release its final chapter in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine.

What is Missing?

Missing is a novel series created by Gakuto Coda, with illustrations by Shin Midorikawa. The series spanned 13 volumes, originally published from 2001 to 2005. In 2020-2022, Kadokawa released a new edition featuring fresh cover art by Mai Hanamura.

The story follows Kyoichi Utsume, a high school loner known for his dark attire and occult knowledge, who was once spirited away as a child. His life changes when he encounters a mysterious girl, blurring the lines between two worlds.

The Manga Adaptations

Missing has received multiple manga adaptations. Rei Mutsuki created the first, Missing: Kamikakushi no Monogatari, which ran for three volumes in Dengeki HP magazine starting in 2005. Anju Hino’s recent adaptation began in May 2023. Kadokawa published the first compiled book volume in October 2023, followed by the third volume on October 25.

Missing Story Summary

Ayame Kondo, introduced as Kurame’s girlfriend, possesses an ethereal beauty, leaving everyone believing she is mismatched with Kurame. However, Kyoichi knows the truth: the Otherworld is always close to this world.

What’s Next?

While Anju Hino’s adaptation of Missing is ending, fans can look forward to Hino’s ongoing manga series, Kyōganake no Hanayome.
