Recap of the Mission: Yozakura Family Saga
The Plot of the Spy-Comedy Series
Mission: Yozakura Family is an action-comedy series based on Hitsuji Gondaira’s popular manga, which concluded its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2025. The story centers on Taiyo Asano, a super-shy high school student whose only comfort is his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura. Taiyo’s life takes an extraordinary turn when he discovers Mutsumi is the head of the world’s strongest spy family.
Mutsumi’s eldest brother, Kyoichiro, is dangerously overprotective and targets Taiyo for getting too close to his sister. To survive Kyoichiro’s lethal affections and protect Mutsumi, Taiyo is forced to marry into the Yozakura family, becoming a spy himself. The anime follows Taiyo’s journey as he trains to become a formidable spy, navigating the chaotic and often hilarious life within the Yozakura household, all while uncovering dark secrets about his own past and the spy family.
