‘Mono’ Anime Adds Hina Yōmiya as Kurokuma-sensei!

Hina Yōmiya is joining the cast of the currently airing “mono” TV anime as the voice of Kurokuma-sensei! The anime, which began broadcasting in Japan on April 13, 2025, is planned to run for 12 episodes.

Who is Hina Yōmiya?

Hina Yōmiya is a Japanese voice actress known for her roles in various anime series. Her addition to the “mono” cast as Kurokuma-sensei is generating excitement among fans.

About “mono”

“mono” is a TV anime series based on the manga by Afro, the creator of “Laid-Back Camp”. The manga is serialized in “Manga Time Kirara Carat” and depicts the daily lives of high school girls in the Cinephoto Club, which is a combination of the photography and video studies clubs.

Crunchyroll is streaming “mono” worldwide, excluding Japan. According to Crunchyroll, the synopsis of the anime is: Satsuki Amamiya was feeling down due to the graduation of the high school Photography Club’s president. However, her best friend and fellow member An Kiriyama encourages Satsuki to dedicate herself to the newly merged Cinephoto Club. Join Satsuki and An as they set out to track down a missing camera, meet new faces, and capture stunning photos and videos along the way.

Staff

The anime is directed by Ryota Aikei (assistant director of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2). Takuya Miyahara (key animator for Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) is the character designer, and Yoko Yonaiyama (A Sign of Affection) is in charge of series’ screenplay. Soigne is handling the animation production.

What We Know About Kurokuma-sensei

Hina Yomiya will be voicing the character Kurokuma Torayo, who is a horror manga artist.

Yomiya commented on her role: “The cute expressions and atmosphere that emanates from everyone is very soothing, both at the dubbing site and in the anime. I was very happy to be able to spend such a wonderful everyday life as Kurokuma Sensei… There are still many more fun stories to come, so I hope you will keep an eye on Kurokuma Sensei as you watch. Thank you very much!”.

Manga Details

The original manga series is written and illustrated by Afro. It was first serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Miracle! magazine on May 16, 2017, before moving to Manga Time Kirara Carat on December 28, 2017. As of April 2024, four tankobon volumes have been released, and a fifth volume is scheduled for release on June 26, 2025. Yen Press has licensed the manga for English release.

Music

The opening theme, “Menimeri Memories!,” is performed by the Cinephoto Club, and the ending theme, “Weekend Roll,” is performed by halca. A character song album called “Mono no Uta,” featuring seven songs including “Menimeri Memories!,” is set to be released on July 2nd.
