The upcoming anime adaptation of Aki Shimizu’s “The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries” continues to expand its cast. The latest announcement reveals the voice actors for four classmates of the protagonist, Kanna.
New Cast Members Announced
The anime’s official Twitter account revealed the following cast additions:
- Saki Ogasawara as Shizue Minoda
- Yukiyo Fujii as Hanadai Renjō
- Hikaru Akao as Ryōko Ogawa
- Wataru Hatano as Takeshi “Take-bō” Kōta
These actors will portray classmates of Kanna, adding depth to the social dynamics of the school setting in the anime.
Premise of “The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei”
“The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries” is a spin-off manga and prequel to Natsuhiko Kyōgoku’s “Hyakki Yakō” novel series. The story is set in Tokyo in 1948, just after the war. It follows Kanna Kusakabe, a second-year high school student, who meets Akihiko Chuzenji, the new language teacher. Mysterious supernatural events occur around Kanna, leading her to seek help from the enigmatic Chuzenji-sensei in the library’s prep room. The series explores a high school supernatural mystery centered around the unlikely duo of a teacher and a high school girl.

Production Details
Chihiro Kumano (episode director for “A Couple of Cuckoos,” “Moriarty the Patriot”) is directing the anime at 100Studio. Atsushi Oka (“Hensuki,” “Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez” scripts) is supervising and writing the series scripts. Masahiko Suzuki (“Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs”) is designing the characters.
Release Date
The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries” is scheduled to premiere on April 7, 2025, in Japan.
