The official website for MUZIK TIGER In the Forest, the charming short anime based on Daewon Media’s popular MUZIK TIGER characters, announced on Friday that its highly anticipated second season will premiere on Tokyo MX on October 1. The announcement was accompanied by a new promotional video, revealing additional cast members joining the beloved characters in Muzik Forest.
The return of the slice-of-life series, co-produced by South Korea’s Daewon Media and Japan’s Shinei Animation, aims to further expand the franchise’s global reach beyond its core fanbase in South Korea.
Expanding the World of Muzik Forest: New Characters and Returning Talent
The second season will introduce several new characters, enriching the vibrant world of MUZIK TIGER In the Forest. Kenichirō Matsuda joins the cast as Kumee, Yoshiki Nakajima as Saga, Hika Tsukishiro as Soapy, and Yukari Anzai as Nao. Kumee is described as an Asiatic black bear and a craft master who creates various items for friends in Muzik Forest, while Soapy is a baby kitten with strawberry-scented paw pads.
Familiar voices will also return to reprise their roles. Rie Takahashi will once again voice Toffee, Ai Kakuma as Taffee, Kōtarō Nishiyama as Teeffee, Aoi Koga as Willy, and Hikaru Tōno as Porumee. These main characters, three tigers, a mouse, and a moon rabbit, lead a carefree life filled with “fun and fascinating moments” in the idyllic Muzik Forest.
The production team largely remains consistent from the first season, ensuring a seamless continuation of the anime’s distinctive style. Kazunori Minagawa and Miki Minagawa are returning to direct the anime at TOHO animation STUDIO, also handling animation duties. Toshizo Nemoto (known for Steins;Gate and Durarara!!) is penning the scripts, Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen) is composing the music, and Kazuki Kuwahara serves as the sound director. STUDIO MUZIK is credited for the original work, with Daewon Media as the original creator.
A Look Back at the First Season
The initial season of MUZIK TIGER In the Forest premiered on April 2, featuring 30 short, one-minute episodes. The anime quickly captivated audiences with its charming anthropomorphic characters and their daily adventures. The story centers around Toffee, Teeffee, and Taffee, the three tiger protagonists, along with their friends Willy the mouse and Porumee the moon rabbit, as they enjoy a relaxed existence by a beautiful lake in Muzik Forest.
Daewon Media’s strategic move to adapt the popular South Korean mascot characters into an anime co-production with Shin-Ei Animation was driven by a desire to expand the franchise’s appeal globally and across different generations, moving beyond its initial Generation MZ fanbase in South Korea. With the upcoming second season, fans can anticipate more heartwarming and enjoyable moments with the expanded cast in the enchanting Muzik Forest.
