After a frustrating delay, Netflix has confirmed that the final two episodes (12 and 13, or 25 and 26 based on Japanese labeling) of My Happy Marriage Season 2 will be available for streaming on April 25, 2025. Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as they will see the conclusion of Miyo and Kiyoka’s journey.

A Long Wait Ends

The journey to the finale has been turbulent for global fans. Originally slated for release in late March, Episode 12 faced production delays, leaving fans in the dark. A new date was suggested, only to be missed, causing considerable frustration. Netflix eventually issued an apology, citing production delays and promising an update soon.

The delay was particularly painful for international viewers as the episodes had already aired in Japan. This led to fans dodging spoilers online while eagerly awaiting the official release on Netflix.

What to Expect

My Happy Marriage has garnered a loyal following with its blend of heartfelt story, slow-burn romance, and beautifully animated historical setting. Season 2 has deepened the bond between Miyo and Kiyoka, highlighting the strength and vulnerability of their relationship. The season has also delved into Miyo’s psychic abilities and the political intrigue surrounding their world, showcasing her evolution and growing confidence.

The finale promises to tie up several lingering threads, including the threat of supernatural forces and the growing tensions within the aristocratic families. Viewers can anticipate a climax that blends heartfelt resolutions with high-stakes drama.

A Quick Recap of Season 1 and 2

Season 1: From Cinderella Story to Budding Romance

My Happy Marriage begins with Miyo Saimori, a young woman born without supernatural abilities in a world where such powers are common and valued. Treated poorly by her stepmother and stepsister after her mother’s death, Miyo’s life is bleak. She is forced into servitude within her own noble household. Her only escape seems to be marriage, but not to someone she desires.

Miyo is betrothed to Kiyoka Kudou, a highly regarded but notoriously cold and fearsome military commander. Known for allegedly driving away previous fiancées, Kiyoka is a figure of fear and speculation. Miyo, resigned to her fate, approaches her new life with little hope, expecting further hardship.

However, life with Kiyoka is not what she anticipates. While initially reserved, Kiyoka is not the cruel monster she expects. As they spend time together, they begin to understand each other. Miyo discovers Kiyoka’s hidden kindness and sense of duty, while Kiyoka sees Miyo’s resilience, gentleness, and inherent worth.

Season 2: Trials and Tribulations

Season 2 explores a new chapter in Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship as they face the battle over the “blood of the Usuba” that runs through Miyo’s veins. Their bond is tested as they strive to protect their newfound happiness.

Miyo learns more about the Kudo family, meeting Kiyoka’s parents. This encounter highlights the differences between Kiyoka and his parents, hinting at new faces and stories to be told. The season teases new characters and mysteries, setting an exciting tone.

Miyo’s abilities will help her and Kiyoka tackle challenges, including tension within the Kudo family. The couple faces new challenges, and Miyo meets Kiyoka’s parents. Ominous conspirators threaten their peace.

Characters

  • Miyo Saimori: Voiced by Reina Ueda, Miyo starts as a timid and oppressed young woman. She transforms into a confident individual who finds her voice and strength.

  • Fuyu Kudou: Kiyoka’s mother.
  • Tadakiyo Kudou: Kiyoka’s father.
  • Kaoruko Jinnouchi: Voiced by Haruka Tomatsu, a new cast member.

  • Romance: The series focuses on the development of Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship.
  • Supernatural Elements: The inclusion of spirits and magic adds intrigue.

Reception

Some have criticized the magical powers’ integration into the story and the resolution of conflicts. Others have found the series overhyped but appreciate its romantic elements and nostalgic hints.

The Future

With the final episodes of Season 2 arriving on April 25th, fans are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Miyo and Kiyoka’s story. The series has built a strong foundation, and the finale is expected to deliver emotional resolutions and high-stakes drama.
