Good news for fans of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes! The spinoff manga is making a comeback with a brand-new one-shot story. This special arc will be released on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
A Celebratory Return
The one-shot arrives as the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime adaptation has just premiered, and the final season of the main My Hero Academia series is approaching. The new chapter celebrates the anime adaptation’s release, marking the creators’ first return since the manga concluded in May 2022.
What to Expect
As of now, details about the story of the new chapter are scarce. It’s possible that it will be a side adventure that takes place during the main story, or it could be set after the manga’s conclusion, offering a glimpse into the characters’ lives after the series ended.
About My Hero Academia: Vigilantes
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spin-off and prequel to Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga series. Written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, the manga ran from August 2016 to May 2022, publishing 126 chapters collected into 15 tankōbon volumes. The series is licensed for English-language release in North America by Viz Media.
The spin-off takes place a few years before the start of the main My Hero Academia storyline. The story follows Koichi Haimawari, a college student with a modest Quirk who aspires to be a hero. However, he doesn’t qualify for pro hero training. He ends up partnering with the vigilante Knuckleduster and Kazuho Haneyama/Pop Step to fight crime.
Anime Adaptation
An anime television series adaptation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, produced by Bones Film, premiered in April 2025 and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
