A new Golden Kamuy Blu-ray anime, bundled with the first official spinoff novel Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushirō no Shukugan (Golden Kamuy: Tokushirō Tsurumi’s Aspiration), has revealed three new cast members and a promotional advertisement. This limited-edition Blu-ray, featuring approximately 30 minutes of new anime content, is slated for release on October 17, 2025.
Featured Episodes and Voice Cast
The upcoming Blu-ray will include two brand-new anime episodes: “Inazuma Gōtō to Mamushi no O-Gin” (“The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin”), adapting a popular manga chapter, and a mini-episode titled “Shimaenaga” (The Hokkaido Long-Tailed Snow Bird).
The newly announced cast members and their roles are:
- Kōichi Yamadera as Keiichirō Sakamoto, a “lightning-fast thief” in “The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin” episode.
- Kotono Mitsuishi as O-gin (O-gin the Viper), a “deadly female bandit” also featured in “The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin.”
- Ikue Ōtani as the bird character Shimaenaga in the mini-episode of the same name.
Voice actor Kōichi Yamadera expressed his excitement about working with Kotono Mitsuishi, noting that her performance as O-gin made the recording process joyful. Mitsuishi likewise shared her enthusiasm for the role, embracing a “passionate and destructive energy” alongside Yamadera.
Production Details and Promotional Advertisement
Shizutaka Sugahara, who served as chief director for the fourth television anime season, is returning to direct these new anime episodes. Brains Base, the studio responsible for animating the fourth season of the TV anime, is also handling the animation for this Blu-ray release.
In conjunction with the announcement, a 15-second commercial for the new Golden Kamuy Blu-ray anime has been released. The spinoff novel, Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushirō no Shukugan, is penned by historical mystery writer Amon Ibuki and delves into various incidents experienced by Tsurumi and the 7th Division during the Russo-Japanese War.
