A Look Back at ‘Is the Order a Rabbit?’ Anime Adaptations
The Is the Order a Rabbit? franchise originated from Koi’s four-panel manga series, which has been serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine since March 2011. The series quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase, leading to multiple anime adaptations.
The first television anime season, animated by White Fox, aired from April to June 2014. A second season, a co-production between White Fox and Kinema Citrus, followed in October to December 2015. The franchise also saw two OVA (Original Video Animation) films: Is the Order a Rabbit?? ~Dear My Sister~, released in November 2017, and Is the Order a Rabbit?? ~Sing For You~, which debuted in September 2019. The third television season, titled Is the Order a Rabbit? BLOOM, aired from October to December 2020, with animation by Encourage Films.
Crunchyroll streamed the television seasons as they aired, and Sentai Filmworks has released the seasons on home video in North America. While a release date for the new feature-length film has yet to be confirmed, the announcement has generated significant excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of Cocoa, Chino, and their friends’ adorable adventures.
