Fans of the beloved slice-of-life series Is the Order a Rabbit? (Gochiusa) have a reason to celebrate, as the previously announced new anime project has officially been confirmed as a feature-length theatrical film. The announcement, made on December 25, 2025, follows an initial tease at the series’ 10th-anniversary event, “Rabbit House Talk Party 2025,” held on March 1, 2025. Bibury Animation Studio will be handling the animation for the upcoming movie.

Key Staff and Studio Revealed for the Gochiusa Film

The production team for the Is the Order a Rabbit? film blends familiar faces with new talent. Hiroyuki Hashimoto, who previously directed the first three anime seasons and several specials, will return as chief director, ensuring continuity for the franchise’s established world and tone. Taking on the roles of director and scriptwriter is Tensho (Motoki Tanaka). Munenori Nawa is credited as assistant director, while Akane Yano is responsible for character design. The animation will be produced by Bibury Animation Studio, a change from previous seasons which saw White Fox, Kinema Citrus, production doA, and Encourage Films involved in the series’ animation.

A new teaser visual for the movie has also been released, featuring protagonists Cocoa and Chino, drawn by character designer Akane Yano. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the visual underscores Cocoa and Chino’s central role in the narrative as the series makes its leap to the big screen.

Beloved Cast Set to Reprise Their Roles

The core voice cast that has brought the charming characters of Rabbit House to life will be returning for the feature film. Ayane Sakura will once again voice Cocoa, while Inori Minase will portray Chino. Risa Taneda is confirmed as Rize, Satomi Sato as Chiya, and Maaya Uchida as Syaro. Rounding out the returning cast are Sora Tokui as Maya and Rie Murakawa as Megu. This consistent casting is expected to maintain the familiar dynamic and heartwarming interactions that fans have come to love.

A Look Back at ‘Is the Order a Rabbit?’ Anime Adaptations

The Is the Order a Rabbit? franchise originated from Koi’s four-panel manga series, which has been serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine since March 2011. The series quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase, leading to multiple anime adaptations.

The first television anime season, animated by White Fox, aired from April to June 2014. A second season, a co-production between White Fox and Kinema Citrus, followed in October to December 2015. The franchise also saw two OVA (Original Video Animation) films: Is the Order a Rabbit?? ~Dear My Sister~, released in November 2017, and Is the Order a Rabbit?? ~Sing For You~, which debuted in September 2019. The third television season, titled Is the Order a Rabbit? BLOOM, aired from October to December 2020, with animation by Encourage Films.

Crunchyroll streamed the television seasons as they aired, and Sentai Filmworks has released the seasons on home video in North America. While a release date for the new feature-length film has yet to be confirmed, the announcement has generated significant excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of Cocoa, Chino, and their friends’ adorable adventures.
