The highly anticipated third season of the One-Punch Man anime will officially premiere on October 5, 2025, airing across the TV Tokyo network in Japan. The announcement has been met with significant excitement from fans eagerly awaiting the return of Saitama and the continuation of the acclaimed superhero saga.
Broadcast Details and Special Programming
One-Punch Man Season 3 is set to debut at 11:45 p.m. JST on October 5, broadcasting on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Osaka, TV Setouchi, and TV Kyushu channels. To mark the occasion and refresh viewers’ memories, a special 30-minute recap episode titled “Understand in One Punch! A Complete Recap of One-Punch Man Season 2” will also air on the same day. This recap program will feature narration by Ryuusei Nakao, who voiced Vaccine Man in the first season’s inaugural episode.
New Visuals and Theme Song Reveals
In conjunction with the premiere date, the staff unveiled a new “Strongest vs. Scariest Version” key visual, showcasing a dynamic confrontation between heroes and monsters. Fans also received a 15-second teaser for the new opening theme song, “Get No Satisfied!”, performed by the returning JAM Project, this time featuring metal group BABYMETAL. JAM Project has been a consistent presence, having performed the opening themes for the first two seasons as well. The ending theme song for the third season, titled “Soko ni Aru Akari” (“The Light, That’s There”), will be performed by Makoto Furukawa, the Japanese voice actor for Saitama.
Animation Studio and Returning Staff
J.C. Staff, the animation studio responsible for One-Punch Man Season 2, will return to produce the third season. Shinpei Nagai is directing the anime, with Tomohiro Suzuki reprising his role for series composition from previous seasons. Character designs are handled by Chikashi Kubota, who also returns from prior seasons, alongside Shinjiro Kuroda and Ryōsuke Shirakawa. Makoto Miyazaki is also back as the music composer.
International Distribution and Streaming
For audiences outside of Japan, Viz Media has acquired the distribution and streaming rights for One-Punch Man Season 3 across North America, Latin America, and Oceania. While specific international streaming platforms have yet to be officially announced, Hulu is anticipated to stream the series in the United States, based on its history with previous seasons.
Fan Expectations and the Monster Association Arc
The announcement marks the end of a long wait for fans, with Season 3 arriving several years after the second season, which aired in 2019. The new season is expected to continue adapting the highly anticipated Monster Association arc from ONE and Yusuke Murata’s manga, promising intense action and pivotal clashes, including the eagerly awaited confrontation between Saitama and Garou. This season is particularly under scrutiny, as fans have high expectations for J.C. Staff to deliver a compelling adaptation following mixed reactions to the animation quality of Season 2, which was a point of concern for some. The anime’s return in 2025 also notably coincides with the 10th anniversary of the anime’s debut.
The One-Punch Man series originated as a webcomic by ONE in 2009, later receiving a digital manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The first anime season, produced by Madhouse, captivated audiences in 2015 with its exceptional animation and storytelling.
