Atsumi Tanezaki, renowned for her roles in popular anime like “Frieren,” has joined the cast of “Orb: On the Movements of the Earth” (Chi: Chikyū no Undō ni Tsuite). Tanezaki will voice the young Albert Brudzewski, a baker who lost his academic curiosity after a certain incident, in the anime’s 24th episode.

Atsumi Tanezaki to Voice Young Albert Brudzewski

The official website for the anime adaptation of Uoto’s manga, “Orb: On the Movements of the Earth,” announced that Atsumi Tanezaki will be joining the cast. She will be voicing the childhood version of Alberto, a young baker, who appears in episode 24, titled “Thaumaturge,” which aired on March 8, 2025. Shoya Ishige voices the adult version of Albert, who debuted in episode 23.

Tanezaki shared her thoughts on the series, saying, “When I was a student, I loved ethics classes and reading philosophy books. I remembered those times while reading [the manga]. My head felt like the universe, my heart was warmed, and I was excited.”

Regarding her character, Alberto, Tanezaki commented, “Due to a certain experience in his childhood, he has locked away his abundant intellectual curiosity, but by regaining his true self, the baton is passed on again… he is a very important character in the heliocentric theory.”

Final Episodes Approaching

“Orb: On the Movements of the Earth” is nearing its conclusion, with a total of 25 episodes. Episode 24 has already aired on March 8th, meaning only one episode remains.

About Orb: On the Movements of the Earth

“Orb: On the Movements of the Earth” is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Uoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits from September 2020 to April 2022, with its chapters collected in eight tankōbon volumes. The anime television series adaptation, produced by Madhouse, premiered in October 2024.

Premise

The story is set in 15th century Europe, specifically the “P Kingdom,” likely a fictionalized version of Poland, where the teachings of the church are absolute. It follows Rafal, a child prodigy who encounters a mysterious man and begins to explore the heretical theory that the Earth orbits the sun. This idea could lead to his execution by the Inquisition. The story also involves two members of the Watch Guild, Oczy and Gras, who discover hidden texts detailing Rafal’s secrets about the universe.
