The official channels for the upcoming anime adaptation of Shinya Misu’s manga, “Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai” (I’ll Never Have a Romantic Comedy with My Childhood Friend), have unveiled a new promotional video, confirming key voice cast members, production staff, and the series’ ending theme song. The romantic comedy is slated for a January 2026 premiere.
Key Voice Cast Members Revealed
The new video confirmed the voices behind the main quartet of childhood friends, central to the series’ comedic and romantic entanglements. Rin Kusumi is set to voice Shio Minamo, a carefree and popular student. Yū Serizawa will portray Akari Hiodoshi, described as Eiyū’s tsundere and gyaru childhood friend who previously had a quieter demeanor. Sae Hiratsuka takes on the role of Runa Tsukimi, marking her first foray into a rom-com anime role, where she will bring to life a character noted for her mischievous yet mysterious side. Finally, Yūki Yamamoto has been cast as Haru Hinata, an athletic character with tanned skin and short hair.
Production Staff Bringing the Manga to Life
Tezuka Productions is handling the animation for the series, with CyberAgent credited for production. The directorial helm is taken by Satoshi Kuwabara. Mitsutaka Hirota is responsible for the series composition and is also co-writing the scripts alongside Mayumi Morita. Character designs for the anime are being handled by Reina Iwasaki. Shinya Misu’s original manga, which began serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website in March 2022, has been a hit with readers.
Ending Theme Song Details
The newly released information also confirmed the ending theme song for the anime will be “Amanojaku” (あまのじゃく; lit. ‘Contrarian’), performed by Hikari Kodama.

“Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai” is set to begin broadcasting in January 2026. Viewers in Japan can catch the series on TV Tokyo, AT-X, and BS NTV. For international audiences, Crunchyroll has secured the streaming rights for the series. The anime centers on Eiyū, a high school boy navigating his feelings for his two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, who attend the same school, while unaware of their own secrets.
