Contrary to recent speculation, the popular Japanese electro-pop trio Perfume has not been announced to perform the opening theme song for the upcoming third season of the anime series To Your Eternity. Official reports indicate that while the highly anticipated “Present World Arc” is set to premiere on October 4, 2025, the musical artist for the opening theme remains unconfirmed, with Masashi Hamauzu returning to compose the ending theme.

The third season of To Your Eternity will air in Japan on NHK General at 23:45 (JST) and will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll, continuing the journey of the immortal being Fushi.

To Your Eternity Season 3 Production Details and Premiere

To Your Eternity Season 3, officially titled the “Present World Arc,” is scheduled to begin its broadcast in October 2025, specifically on October 4th. This season will delve into a modern setting, offering new challenges and perspectives on Fushi’s philosophical journey. Crunchyroll will stream the new season, making it accessible to international audiences.

Sota Yokote is taking over as director for the third season, with Kiyoko Sayama, the Season 2 director, stepping into the role of chief director. Other returning staff members include Shinzo Fujita for series composition, Koji Yabuno for character design, Ryo Kawasaki for music composition, and Takeshi Takadera as sound director. Animation production will be handled by Drive and STUDIO MASSKET.

Ending Theme Confirmed: Masashi Hamauzu Returns

While the opening theme artist is yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed that Masashi Hamauzu will compose the ending theme for To Your Eternity Season 3. Hamauzu is a familiar name to fans of the series, having previously composed the ending themes “Mediator” for the first season and “Roots” for the second season. His continued involvement ensures a consistent musical atmosphere for the anime’s conclusion.

Perfume’s History with Anime and Drama Theme Songs

While Perfume is not slated for To Your Eternity Season 3, the group has a notable history of contributing theme songs to various anime and live-action productions. In September 2024, Perfume was announced to perform the ending theme “Cosmic Treat” for a new chapter of the anime Beyblade X, set to begin on October 18.

The trio also performed the opening theme “Nee” for the 3DCG TV anime adaptation of Koneko no Chi – Ponponra Daibouken in 2016. Additionally, Perfume collaborated with the U.S. band OK Go for the theme song “I Don’t Understand You” for the 2016 anime Sushi Police. Their music has also graced live-action projects, such as the theme song “Sweet Refrain” for the TV drama Toshi Densetsu no Onna in 2013 and “Mugen Mirai” for the Chihayafuru live-action film series in 2017.

Fans of To Your Eternity can anticipate the new season’s premiere in October 2025, while updates on the official opening theme artist will likely follow as the release date approaches.
