Manga’s Premise and Previous Adaptations
The anime is based on Mamakari’s romantic comedy manga, Debu to Love to Ayamachi to!, which began serialization in NTT Solmare’s digital magazine Koisuru Soirée in September 2019. MangaPlaza digitally publishes an official English version of the manga.
The story revolves around Yumeko Koda, a woman plagued by self-consciousness and complexes. After a terrible accident, Yumeko wakes up a completely transformed person with a newfound, hyper-positive attitude. This 180-degree change not only surprises those around her but also begins to positively impact her surroundings, helping her and others confront their worries and complexes. The narrative is described as a frenzied romantic comedy that includes elements of love, work, friendship, and even an attempted murder case.
Prior to the anime, the manga inspired a live-action drama adaptation that aired from November to December 2022. The anime adaptation was first announced in November 2023.
