The highly anticipated second season of “Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” has announced the addition of four new voice cast members, further enriching its vibrant ensemble. These additions come as the anime continues to build excitement following its initial season and a confirmed July 6 premiere date.

New Additions to the “Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” Voice Cast

The anime’s production committee revealed the new voice actors who will be joining the returning cast for “Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” Season 2. While some sources mention specific new characters, the primary announcement highlights the expansion of the overall cast.

Specifically, Sumire Uesaka has been cast as Gelee, described as a mysterious beautiful girl who refers to herself as “the perfect AI.”.

Other cast members listed include Shunsuke Takeuchi as Gō-yan, Kōsuke Echigoya as Hone-chan, Kazuya Nakai as Hiroshi Mado, and Ikue Ōtani as Runrūn.

Returning Characters and Their Voice Talent

The core cast members who endeared themselves to fans in the first season will reprise their roles, ensuring continuity for the beloved characters.

  • Puniru: Voiced by Yū Sasahara. Sasahara also performs the new series’ opening song, “Brun-Brun”.

The Story So Far: A Slime’s Transformation

“Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” is a romantic comedy anime based on Maedakun’s web manga series. The story revolves around Kotarō, who created a slime that unexpectedly came to life. Seven years later, this slime, named Puniru, has transformed into a beautiful, carefree girl capable of shapeshifting into various cute forms. The narrative often sees Kotarō thrown into amusing chaos by Puniru’s spontaneous spirit and antics.

Production Details and Season 2 Premiere

Yūshi Ibe returns to direct the second season at TOHO animation STUDIO. Michiko Yokote is again overseeing the series scripts, with Aya Tanaka returning as character designer and Izumi Mori composing the music.

“Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” Season 2 premiered on July 6 at 17:30 JST on Japanese television, including TV Tokyo and its affiliates. Crunchyroll streamed the first season and is expected to continue streaming the second season. The first episode of Season 2, titled “Puniru Returns,” aired on July 5, 2025, according to Prime Video listings, with subsequent episodes following weekly. Fans have expressed excitement for Puniru’s return and the introduction of new transformations.
