The highly anticipated second season of the new Ranma 1/2 anime adaptation is officially slated to premiere on October 4, 2025, in Japan, with global streaming to follow on Netflix. The announcement also unveiled the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming season, building excitement among fans of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic martial arts romantic comedy.
Premiere Details and Global Streaming
The Ranma 1/2 second season will debut on NTV in Japan on October 4 at 24:55 JST, effectively making it October 5 at 12:55 a.m. JST. Following its Japanese television broadcast, the series will be exclusively available for streaming on Netflix internationally. This continues the distribution model established by the first season, which premiered in October 2024 and also streamed on Netflix after its Japanese airing.
New Theme Songs Unveiled
For the second season, two new musical acts will contribute to the anime’s soundtrack:
- Opening Theme: Wednesday Campanella will perform the opening theme song titled “Wo Aini.”
- Ending Theme: The ending theme song, “Panda Girl,” will be performed by Nishina.
These new tracks will set the tone for the upcoming episodes, following the first season’s opening theme “Iinazukekkyun” by ano and ending theme “Anta Nante” by Riria.
Expanding Cast and Returning Staff
The second season will introduce several fan-favorite characters to this new adaptation, alongside a mix of returning voice actors and new additions. Toshihiko Seki, known for his role as Mousse in the original Ranma 1/2 anime 32 years ago, will reprise the character.

The core production team largely remains intact from the first season. Kōnosuke Uda, known for his work on One Piece: Dead End film, directed the first season at animation studio MAPPA. Kimiko Ueno is responsible for series scripts, Hiromi Taniguchi for character designs, and Kaoru Wada for music. New staff joining the second season include Kōsuke Kawamura as one of the chief animation directors and Ryūta Hayashi assisting Chihiro Ōkawa in art direction.
Veteran voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi, Megumi Hayashibara, and Noriko Hidaka will continue to voice (male) Ranma Saotome, (female) Ranma, and Akane Tendō, respectively. Other returning cast members include Kōichi Yamadera as Ryōga Hibiki and Rei Sakuma as Shampoo. Minami Takayama and Kikuko Inoue are also reprising their roles as Nabiki Tendō and Kasumi Tendō. Akio Ōtsuka takes over as Sōun Tendō, and Chō as Genma Saotome, with Kenichi Ogata serving as the new anime’s narrator.
