The Continuing Saga of Puberty Syndrome
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus picks up after Sakuta Azusagawa has transitioned from high school to university. He enrolls at a university in Kanazawa-hakkei alongside his girlfriend, the nationally acclaimed actress Mai Sakurajima. The story delves into new mysterious phenomena related to Puberty Syndrome, a bizarre condition triggered by unstable mental states that manifests as supernatural occurrences.
The new series introduces an out-of-season “Miniskirt Santa” who claims to be gifting Puberty Syndrome to people, a concept that Sakuta finds eerily familiar. The initial episodes focus on Uzuki Hirokawa, an acquaintance of Sakuta and the lead singer of an idol group, whose Puberty Syndrome manifests in a unique way: it’s influenced by the collective insecurities of those around her, drastically changing her personality. This forces Uzuki to become overly considerate of others’ feelings, potentially impacting her aspirations as an idol.

The anime series is directed by Soichi Masui at studio CloverWorks, with Masahiro Yokotani handling series composition and Satomi Tamura designing the characters. Fox capture plan is responsible for the music.
