Fans of the unconventional Isekai series Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon can rejoice, as a third season of the anime adaptation has officially been confirmed. The announcement follows the broadcast of the second season’s finale on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, ensuring more adventures for the sentient vending machine, Boxxo, and his companion, Lammis.
The news was shared via the anime’s official social media accounts and website, accompanied by a celebratory illustration to mark the production decision. While specific details regarding a release date, new staff, or extensive plot points for the third season are yet to be revealed, the confirmation signals the continued popularity of the unique fantasy-comedy.
The Journey of Boxxo: From Human to Heroic Dispenser
Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon began its life as a web novel written by Hirukuma in 2016. It quickly gained traction for its humorous premise: a vending machine enthusiast dies in a traffic accident and finds himself reincarnated as a vending machine in a fantasy world. Unable to move or speak beyond programmed phrases, he must rely on his dispensing abilities and the help of others to survive in a dangerous dungeon.
The light novel series, with illustrations by Itsuwa Kato (original edition) and Yūki Hagure (revised edition), was later acquired by Kadokawa Shoten. A manga adaptation by Kunieda also began serialization in August 2021. Both the light novels and manga are licensed in English by Yen Press.
Anime Adaptation’s Success and Production Details
The first anime season, animated by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ, premiered in July 2023 and consisted of 12 episodes. Noriaki Akitaya directed the initial season, with Tatsuya Takahashi overseeing the series scripts.
A second season was promptly announced after the first season’s conclusion, with Takashi Yamamoto stepping in as director. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ continued their collaboration for the animation, and key staff such as Tatsuya Takahashi (series scripts) and Takahiro Sakai (character designs) returned. The second season aired from July 2 to September 17, 2025, culminating in the announcement of the third installment.
Crunchyroll has been a key platform for international viewers, streaming both previous seasons with subtitles and English dubs. The voice cast for the Japanese version includes Jun Fukuyama as Boxxo and Kaede Hondo as Lammis, who are expected to reprise their roles for the upcoming season.
What to Expect from Season 3
While specific plot directions are currently under wraps, the renewal for a third season suggests that the anime will continue to adapt Hirukuma’s original story, further exploring the comedic and adventurous challenges Boxxo and Lammis face. The series is known for its unique take on the isekai genre, blending humor with genuine peril as Boxxo navigates a world where he is both a powerful asset and a stationary object.
Fans can anticipate more creative uses of Boxxo’s vending machine abilities, new characters, and deeper dives into the lore of the fantasy dungeon. The quick succession of season announcements, with the second season following the first and the third following the second, highlights strong viewer engagement and positive reception for the quirky series.
As more information becomes available, fans will be eager to learn when they can once again join Boxxo and Lammis on their vending machine adventures.
