The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Nekoko and NAJI Yanagida’s “Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling” (Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta: Saikyō Igai Mezasanee) light novel series has revealed its theme song artists and confirmed a January 2026 premiere. The series will be exclusively simulcast on HIDIVE in North America and other key territories.
Anime enthusiasts can look forward to Sizuk performing the opening theme song, titled “Gliding Claw,” while virtual singers TAO and SAK will handle the ending theme with “Sky Clipper.”
A Look at the “Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling” Story
The “Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling” narrative centers around a protagonist who awakens in a new world, not as a powerful hero, but as a defenseless dragon egg. Stripped of typical adventuring abilities like magic or physical strength, the newly-reincarnated being must literally break out of its shell and strive to become the strongest dragon to survive in a perilous forest filled with dangerous creatures. The series promises a unique take on the popular isekai genre, focusing on growth from humble, reptilian beginnings.
The original light novel series by Nekoko began as a web novel in August 2015 and later saw print publication with illustrations by NAJI Yanagida. It has since amassed 16 volumes and also inspired a manga adaptation. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the light novel and manga in English.
