Source Material and Publication History
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Matsuura and illustrated by keepout. The series initially ran as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from 2016 to 2020. Kadokawa Books later published the light novels with illustrations by keepout, releasing nine volumes between 2018 and October 2022.
A manga adaptation by Yutaka Ohori began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine in September 2018. The English digital version of the manga is available through Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global service.
