The manga series Rōgai Level, penned by Nazuna Miki and illustrated by Ayame Inada, has reached its conclusion. The final chapter was published on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform, marking the end of the series’ serialization.
A Unique Isekai Premise
Rōgai Level presents a distinctive take on the isekai (otherworld) genre. The story centers around Kato, a salaryman suffering under an abusive boss. His life takes a dramatic turn when he is pushed in front of a train by his tormentor. Instead of simply dying, Kato is reincarnated in a fantasy world as Cain.
Cain possesses a unique ability: he can instantly recognize elderly troublemakers and assess the level of threat they pose. This ability sets him on a path to eliminate these “troublemakers” from the fantasy world, leading to a storyline filled with dark humor and social commentary.
From Salaryman to Eliminator
The manga explores themes of reincarnation, social justice, and power dynamics through its unusual protagonist. Kato’s transformation from an oppressed office worker to a powerful figure capable of judging and eliminating those he deems problematic offers a compelling narrative. The series uses its fantasy setting to examine real-world issues of ageism and the perceived burden of an aging population.

Nazuna Miki is also known for the web novel series My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1, which was later adapted into a light novel and manga. Miki debuted the My Unique Skill Makes Me OP even at Level 1 web novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Be Novelists) website in February 2017. Miki and artist Subachi then launched series as a print light novel series in September 2017. Mawata ‘s manga adaptation debuted on Kodansha ‘s ” Suiyōbi no Sirius ” website in May 2018. Kodansha USA Publishing licensed both the light novel series and the manga adaptation. The series’ anime adaptation premiered in July 2023.
