The Saint Seiya: Kaiō Saiki – Rerise of Poseidon manga, a spin-off of Masami Kurumada’s classic Saint Seiya series, is set to conclude with its fourth compiled book volume. The series, written and illustrated by Tsunakan Suda, began its serialization in September 2022.
The Conclusion of Poseidon’s Return
The announcement confirms that the spin-off will wrap up with its upcoming fourth volume. This brings to a close the narrative that saw the Emperor of the Seas, Poseidon, reawaken to confront a new threat while Athena’s Saints were occupied with Hades.
Rerise of Poseidon Storyline Overview
Saint Seiya: Kaiō Saiki – Rerise of Poseidon takes place after the defeat of Hades but before the return of Athena and her Saints to Earth. In the absence of Pegasus Seiya and his companions, who are in Elysium to save Athena and defeat Hades, Earth finds itself vulnerable. The goddess Nemesis descends, threatening to destroy humanity by causing the moon-like Adrasteia to fall on Earth within ten hours. In this critical moment, Poseidon, whose seal by Athena has weakened, is temporarily resurrected along with his Marine Generals. They rise to challenge Nemesis and her “Heroic Souls” to prevent the planet’s destruction. The manga features characters such as Poseidon, Sorrento of Siren, Kanon of Sea Dragon, Baian of Seahorse, Io of Scylla, Krishna of Chrysaor, and Isaac of Kraken among the revived Marine Generals. Shaina of Ophiuchus and Kiki also appear, representing Athena’s forces.
