The highly anticipated second part of the Sakamoto Days anime is set to intensify with the unveiling of additional voice cast members and a new trailer for the upcoming “JCC Transfer Exams Arc.” This new chapter, which promises to dive deeper into the world of assassins, officially begins with Episode 17, titled “Have a nice flight,” airing on August 18.

New Faces Join the Assassin Ranks

Fans can look forward to hearing new voices bring key characters to life in the “JCC Transfer Exams Arc.” Hisako Kanemoto, known for her diverse roles, will voice Nao Toramaru. Tomoaki Maeno joins the cast as Joichiro Kaji, while Tatsumaru Tachibana will portray Shinaya. These new additions are set to expand the anime’s roster of intriguing personalities as Sakamoto and Shin navigate the challenging JCC Transfer Exams.

Previously announced cast members for the second part of the anime include Yuko Kaida as Dump, Chiaki Kobayashi as Apart, Ryota Takeuchi as Minimalist, Kosuke Toriumi as Saw, Koki Uchiayama as Gaku, M.A.O. as Akira Akao, Mamiko Noto as Rion Akao, Daiki Yamashita as Mafuyu Seba, and Satoshi Hino as Kanaguri.

Cast Members Share Their Enthusiasm

Hisako Kanemoto expressed her excitement, stating, “I love this series, so I was happy to join the cast. Toramaru’s strong devotion to her idol and her rapidly shifting emotions meant I had to give my all to keep up”. Tomoaki Maeno commented on his character, Kaji, noting, “At first I thought he was cool and composed, but he’s actually extremely shy—a trait I can deeply relate to”. Tatsumaru Tachibana humorously added, “I looked forward to each recording session. Talking about him would be a spoiler, but let’s just say that before I knew it, it was all over”.

The Perilous JCC Transfer Exams Arc

The “JCC Transfer Exams Arc” sees protagonist Taro Sakamoto and Shin Asakura boarding a plane to take the Japan Assassins Club (JCC) transfer test. Their primary objective in undergoing these rigorous exams is to seek clues about “X (Slur),” who was previously revealed to be Kei Uzuki, a former classmate of Taro Sakamoto during his JCC days.

The arc is expected to be a pivotal point in the series, blending the anime’s signature mix of daily life humor with high-octane assassin action. A new visual for the arc has been released, showcasing Sakamoto, Shin, and fellow examinees such as Mafuyu Seba, Akira Akao, Nao Toramaru, Joichiro Kaji, and Shinaya, alongside ORDER member and filmmaker Kanaguri. Additionally, a special preview video has been released, offering glimpses of Toramaru, Kaji, and Shinaya in action. This arc is highly regarded by fans of the manga for its intense battles and the introduction of many new characters with deadly abilities.

Streaming Information and Production

Sakamoto Days airs every Monday at 24:00 on the TV Tokyo network and other channels, with episodes also available on Netflix and other streaming platforms. The anime adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki’s popular manga is directed by Masaki Watanabe for TMS Entertainment, with Taku Kishimoto overseeing the scripts and Yo Moriyama providing the character designs. The anime’s first cour premiered in January, with the second cour beginning its run in July. The opening theme for the second part is “Dandelion” by go!go!vanillas.
