The Journey So Far: Yuke and the Clover Party
The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series penned by Kousuke Unagi and illustrated by Super Zombie. The original light novel series concluded with its fifth volume on February 28, 2025. A manga adaptation by Yuuri has also been serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website since June 2021.
The narrative centers on Yuke, a red mage who, after enduring years of ridicule from his A-rank party, Thunder Pike, decides to leave them. Seeking a fresh start, he reunites with his former students—Marina, Silk, and Rain—and joins their nascent party, Clover. The series chronicles their adventures as Yuke, revered by his students, leverages his extraordinary magical abilities and skills to guide them through various quests and delve deeper into formidable dungeons, helping them to unlock their full potential. The first season was animated by Bandai Namco Pictures, with Katsumi Ono directing, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition, and Go Sakabe composing the music.
The inaugural season featured a talented voice cast, including Hiromu Mineta as Yuke, Hana Inami as Marina, Natsumi Kawaida as Silk, Nene Hieda as Rain, Maria Sashide as Nene, and M.A.O as Jamie, among others. Crunchyroll streamed the first season worldwide, offering both subtitled and English dubbed versions, making it accessible to a global audience.
