Seven Seas Entertainment, a leading publisher of manga and light novels, has recently announced a fresh batch of licenses, adding to its diverse catalog of titles. Among the newly acquired series are the full-color manga “Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!” and “I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!”, alongside several other exciting additions spanning various genres. These acquisitions signal Seven Seas’ continued commitment to bringing a wide array of Japanese and international comics and literature to English-speaking audiences.

Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!: A Robot Romance in Full Color

Yoshimi Sato’s “Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!” is a Japanese manga series that began serialization in Futabasha’s seinen manga magazine, Monthly Action, in October 2022. After the magazine ceased publication in February 2024, the series moved to the Web Comic Action website in April of the same year.

Storyline

The series revolves around Akutsu Eita, a gloomy high school student and robot otaku. One day, he discovers Agatsuma Makina, his school’s idol, outside his home. He soon learns that she is a robot created for sexual purposes. The manga explores Eita’s reaction to this revelation and his attempts to keep Makina’s identity a secret, leading to a romantic comedy with a science fiction twist.

Publication Details

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series for English publication. The first volume is scheduled for release in September 2025. It will be available in full-color, large-trim editions under Seven Seas’ Ghost Ship imprint, with ebook editions also available on digital platforms.

Anime Adaptation

In addition to the manga, an anime television series adaptation produced by BloomZ is set to premiere on April 7, 2025, on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji. Masayoshi Nishida is directing the anime, with Yōhei Kashii handling series composition.

I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!: From Light Novel to Manga

“I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!” (俺は星間国家の悪徳領主!, Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryōshu!) is a Japanese light novel series written by Yomu Mishima and illustrated by Nadare Takamine. It began as a web novel on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2018.

Storyline

The series follows Liam, who, in his previous life, was a moral and responsible person but died in debt and betrayed by his wife. Reborn into the ruling family of a vast interstellar empire, Liam decides to live for himself and become a tyrant. However, his decisions lead to peace and prosperity, making him increasingly popular despite his intentions.

Light Novel and Manga Adaptations

Overlap acquired the series and began publishing it under their Overlap Bunko light novel imprint in July 2020. A manga adaptation illustrated by Kai Nadashima began serialization on Overlap’s Comic Gardo manga website in May 2021.

Publication Details

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both the light novel and manga adaptations for English publication. The manga adaptation is ongoing, with multiple volumes already available in English.

Anime Adaptation

An anime television series adaptation produced by Quad is set to premiere in April 2025.

Additional Licensed Titles

Alongside “Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!” and “I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!”, Seven Seas Entertainment has also announced the licensing of several other titles:

  1. DEAR. DOOR (Comic): A webtoon series by realset, this full-color comic explores the story of Kyungjoon, a cop haunted by personal loss who stumbles upon a cult and becomes entangled with the demon king, Lord Cain. Cain’s survival depends on mana accessed through a “door” located within Kyungjoon. The first volume is scheduled for release in October 2025.
  2. Romelia War Chronicle: After journeying alongside her fiancé on his quest to defeat the Demon King, Romelia is suddenly deemed useless and sent home, her engagement annulled. While the prince and his group return as celebrated heroes, Rome goes home as a disgrace. But she’s not the same girl who left her province.
  3. Hooligans:
  4. Adachi and Shimamura (Audiobook): Adachi and Shimamura, two young women who attend the same high school, are inseparable friends. When Adachi’s friendship turns into something more, she must explore her feelings while trying to maintain the closeness they had before.
