The fourth installment of the Shibuya Hachi anime, based on the Shibuya City Tourism Association’s official mascot character, is officially slated to premiere on October 4. The debut was revealed in a new promotional video. This upcoming part continues the story of Hachi, the beloved dog inspired by the loyal Hachikō statue, and his friends in modern-day Shibuya.

Continuing the Adventures of Hachi and Friends

Shibuya Hachi chronicles the daily, relaxed, and cheerful life of Hachi and his companions in the bustling Shibuya district of Tokyo. The anime celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hachikō, the famed loyal dog immortalized in a bronze statue outside Shibuya Station.

The series first debuted on April 6, 2024, airing on TV Tokyo as part of the “eeny meeny miney mo” programming block. It also became available on various streaming services and YouTube shortly after its television broadcast. The first season featured voice actors such as Misaki Watada as Hachi, Akio Suyama as Mi-ke, Kana Ueda as Nana, Chihiro Uno as Harry, Kou Bonkobara as Kuro, and Kenji Nomura as Moyai.

Previous Installments and Production Details

The anime has seen a consistent release schedule for its parts. The second season was announced for Spring 2025, and the third part, or “cours,” debuted on April 5, 2025. Nippon Animation has been consistently involved in the animation production for the series, with Usagiou collaborating on the third cours. PansonWorks is credited for character designs, and the staff for music, color key, editing, and sound have largely remained consistent. The official theme song for the series, “DUSK,” is performed by HACHI.

The forthcoming fourth part, listed as “Shibuya♡Hachi Part 4” by several anime databases, is also produced by Nippon Animation. It is categorized as a TV Short and falls under the comedy genre.

Fans can anticipate the continued charming adventures and heartwarming narratives that have defined the Shibuya Hachi anime since its inception.
