The newly unveiled promotional video immediately sets the tone for the slice-of-life anime, centering on Hiroshi Nohara’s daily lunchtime routines. Narrated by Toshiyuki Morikawa, who reprises his role as Hiroshi, the video showcases the 35-year-old salaryman’s quest for the perfect meal, whether it’s chosen for its affordability, speed, or deliciousness. The footage features various appetizing lunches, including popular dishes like pancakes and kushikatsu, reflecting the original manga’s focus on food trivia and workplace anecdotes.
Theme Song Artists Revealed
The anime’s opening and ending theme song artists have also been officially announced. The energetic opening theme, “Gohan Tabeyo” (Let’s EAT), will be performed by Mega Shinnosuke, a singer-songwriter known for being a big fan of the Crayon Shin-chan series. For the ending theme, the rock band saba sister will contribute the song “Kyō no Gohan wa Nan Darō na” (I Wonder What Today’s Meal Will Be).

Toshiyuki Morikawa returns to voice Hiroshi Nohara, the beloved father from the Crayon Shin-chan franchise. The anime is directed by Tsukasa Nishiyama at DLE, utilizing a Flash-style animation, with Shinei Animation, the studio behind the main Crayon Shin-chan series, also credited for production. Hasyashi Mori and Moral are penning the scripts, while Koutarou Yamawaki is handling character designs, and Akifumi Tada is composing the music.
Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi is slated to begin its broadcast on October 3 at 11:00 p.m. JST on BS Asahi.
