Aniplex has recently unveiled the first three minutes of the upcoming “Silent Witch” anime adaptation, offering fans an early glimpse into the series. This preview footage was presented during a livestream event on Saturday, June 28, 2025, alongside other significant announcements, including a new cast member and details regarding the opening theme song.
The anime, officially titled Secrets of the Silent Witch (or Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto in Japanese), is based on the light novel series by Matsuri Isora and Nanna Fujimi. It is set to premiere on television on July 4, 2025, airing on channels such as Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 in Japan, with Crunchyroll confirmed to stream the series internationally as part of its summer 2025 anime simulcast lineup.
A New Voice Joins the Cast
Among the latest revelations, voice actress Ai Kayano has been announced to join the cast, lending her voice to the character Claudia. Claudia is described as a second-year Serendia Academy student known as a “walking library,” whose family of esteemed intellectuals is considered a national treasure. This new addition expands the previously announced cast, which includes Saya Aizawa as the protagonist Monica Everett, Hitomi Nabatame as Nero, Junichi Suwabe as Louis Miller, and others.
Theme Song Information Unveiled
The opening theme song for Secrets of the Silent Witch is titled “Feel,” performed by the alternative rock band hitsujibungaku. This song is scheduled to begin streaming in Japan on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the anime’s premiere. hitsujibungaku is also performing the ending theme song for the series, titled “mild days.”
The anime is being produced by Studio Gokumi, with Yasuo Iwamoto directing and Takaomi Kanasaki serving as chief director and handling series composition and scripts. Cona Nitanda is responsible for character designs, while Cygames and Rina Tayama are credited with the music. Yen Press has licensed the original light novels and the manga adaptation for English release under the title Secrets of the Silent Witch. The story follows Monica Everett, the world’s only practitioner of Voiceless Magic, who is a powerful heroine but is in reality extremely shy, having learned voiceless magic to avoid speaking in public. She is tasked with secretly guarding the Second Prince.
