The popular Japanese boy band SixTONES will perform the opening theme song for the second season of the Wind Breaker anime, Aniplex announced. The second season is scheduled to premiere in April 2025 as part of the “Super Animeism TURBO” programming block.
Wind Breaker Season 2: What to Expect
The announcement of Wind Breaker Season 2 follows the airing of the first season’s 13th episode in Japan. Crunchyroll has confirmed they will also stream the new season. A teaser trailer has been released announcing that Season 2 will begin airing in April 2025. A new cast member, Ryōta Ōsaka, will join as Tasuku Tsubakino, a third-year high school student.
What is Wind Breaker About?
Wind Breaker is a Japanese manga series by Satoru Nii that started serialization in January 2021. The anime television series adaptation, produced by CloverWorks, aired from April to June 2024.
The series follows Haruka Sakura, a first-year student at Furin High School, an institution known for its brawling strength. Instead of academics, Furin High School is infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some students formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town. Haruka’s goal is to become the strongest. However, his expectations are shattered when he learns that Bofurin, a gang of Furin students, serves as the town’s protectors.
SixTONES: The J-Pop Group
SixTONES is a six-member Japanese boy band that was formed in 2015 and debuted in 2020. Their debut single achieved a million sales in its first week. SixTONES’s recent single “Doki it” was released on February 26, 2025, and their 14th single “Barrier” is scheduled for release on March 19, 2025. Their latest album, “GOLD,” was released on January 15, 2025, and they are currently on their first 5-dome tour called “YOUNG OLD”.
