Square Enix’s popular horror visual novel, PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, has officially launched a new spinoff manga titled PARANORMASIGHT: File 25 – Reikan Shōjō Kurosuzu Mio no Kaigō (PARANORMASIGHT: File 25 – The Chance Encounter of Psychic Girl Mio Kurosuzu). The series began serialization on November 3, 2025, on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform.
The announcement was made by the Manga UP! platform’s X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, November 2, confirming the highly anticipated continuation for fans of the game.
A New Chapter for Kurosuzu Mio
The spinoff manga centers on Kurosuzu Mio, a psychic girl and a fan-favorite character from the original game, as she embarks on a completely new story. The narrative is set shortly after the events of PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, returning to Tokyo’s Sumida ward. It will follow two young girls entangled in a mysterious legend surrounding the northern part of Tokyo. Notably, the creative staff behind the original game are also involved in crafting the story for this new manga.
Hinase Momoyama is handling the art for the manga, while mystery novelist Kawasaki Soushi is credited as the writer. The first chapter introduces Sakuramiya Nino, a second-year high school student, who encounters Mio after a supernatural event, leading Mio to transfer to Nino’s class. This premise aligns with Mio’s character in the game, where she frequently transfers schools and uses her psychic abilities to assist law enforcement with paranormal cases.
The Original PARANORMASIGHT Experience
PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a visual novel that Square Enix released in March 2023. The game is available on Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
Set in the 1980s in Tokyo’s Sumida City, Honjo, the game delves into a multi-layered collection of chilling ghost stories centered around several protagonists who acquire “curse powers”. Players navigate the city’s mysterious areas, solve puzzles, and uncover clues by day, while at night, they engage in a deadly battle royale with other curse bearers. The ultimate goal for these cursed individuals is to gather enough power to revive a chosen person. The game received positive reviews from critics and was honored with an “Award of Excellence” at the Japan Game Awards in 2023.
