Sublime Manga has officially announced the upcoming English releases of Satomichi’s Bride of the Shark Clan (Samezoku e no Sasagemono) and Enjo’s Forest of the Rabbits (Usagi no Mori) manga. Both Boys’ Love (BL) titles are slated for release in print and digital formats in the summer of 2026.
“Bride of the Shark Clan” Arrives June 2026
Bride of the Shark Clan, originally titled Samezoku e no Sasagemono, is set to be released by Sublime Manga on June 9, 2026. This supernatural Boys’ Love series, penned and illustrated by Satomichi, delves into the complex relationship between two island clans. The manga was first launched in Takeshobo’s moment magazine in 2021, with its third compiled volume shipping in September 2023. Renta! previously released the manga digitally in English under the title Sacrificed to the Shark Clan.
Synopsis of “Bride of the Shark Clan”
The story centers on Avel, the son of the Tangata Clan’s patriarch, who is increasingly displeased with the Miyaru Clan, residing on the opposite side of their island. A long-standing, unsettling law dictates that the Tangata Clan must present one young adult to the Miyaru Clan annually.
One day, Avel is attacked by a beast and is unexpectedly rescued by Tukiri of the Miyaru Clan. Tukiri’s initially kind and friendly demeanor surprises Avel, causing him to lower his guard. However, upon noticing Avel’s blood, Tukiri’s personality drastically shifts, and he transforms into a more beastly form. This dramatic change panics Avel, especially given a unique trait of the Tangata Clan: their first intimate experience determines their gender. If they are taken like a woman, they become a woman. Despite his position as the next in line to be patriarch, Avel finds himself overwhelmed by pleasure.
“Forest of the Rabbits” Slated for July 2026
Following Bride of the Shark Clan, Enjo’s Forest of the Rabbits (Usagi no Mori) will be released by Sublime Manga on July 14, 2026. Enjo initially released this manga in Taiyoh Tosho’s Craft magazine in 2018, with the second compiled volume shipped in January.
Exploring the Emotional Depths of “Forest of the Rabbits”
Forest of the Rabbits explores the evolving friendship and burgeoning romantic feelings between childhood friends Shunta and Tamaki. The narrative delves into Shunta’s struggle with his developing feelings for Tamaki, which he perceives as “impure” or “not correct.” The story captures the emotional complexities as Shunta grapples with these feelings and the fear of rejection, all while their relationship begins to change as they navigate high school. The manga is described as beautifully drawn and movingly told, making it a must-read for fans of Boys’ Love.
