Suzu Akeko’s manga adaptation of Sora Hinokage’s popular web novel series, Inchiki Seijo to Iwareta node, Kuni wo Dete Nonbiri Kurasou to Omoimasu (They’re Calling Me a Faint Saintess, so I’ll Leave the Kingdom and Live an Easygoing Life), officially concluded its serialization on the Mag Comi website on October 7. The final, sixth compiled volume, which retailers are marking as the series’ “finale,” is set to be released on December 10 and will include an exclusive extra story titled “Another Ending.”
The Journey of the Accused Saintess Comes to an End
The manga, which began its serialization on the Mag Comi website in January 2022, has captivated readers with its fantasy-romance narrative centered on Fremea, a saint unjustly accused of being a fraud. The announcement of the manga’s conclusion brings to a close a chapter for fans who have followed Fremea’s journey since its inception. The upcoming sixth volume promises a complete package for collectors, with the “Another Ending” offering an additional perspective to the story’s resolution.
From Web Novel to Manga Adaptation
Inchiki Seijo to Iwareta node originated as a web novel series penned by Sora Hinokage, first appearing on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in July 2020. The successful web novel subsequently received a manga adaptation by Suzu Akeko, further expanding its reach and bringing Hinokage’s world to a wider audience through visual storytelling. Earth Star Entertainment began shipping the novel’s second volume with illustrations by Chum in November 2021.
Plot Overview: Fremea’s Ordeal
The story of Inchiki Seijo to Iwareta node, Kuni wo Dete Nonbiri Kurasou to Omoimasu follows Fremea, who holds the significant role of the newest centennial saint, destined to serve the people of the Eustitea Kingdom. However, her position is jeopardized when she becomes the target of court conspirators, who falsely accuse her of being a “faint saintess” or “false saint.” This accusation sets the stage for Fremea’s decision to leave the kingdom, presumably to seek a more peaceful and easygoing life away from the political intrigue and false charges. The manga adaptation brought this tale of betrayal, resilience, and potential new beginnings to life through Akeko’s artwork.
