The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Yuki Shiwasu’s Tamon’s B-Side (Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?) manga began streaming its first promotional video on Tuesday, September 22, 2025, unveiling new cast members, additional staff, and a preview of an insert song for the series. The romantic comedy anime is slated to premiere in January 2026.

New Cast Members Join the Ensemble

The newly released promotional video introduced four additional voice actors who will be lending their talents to Tamon’s B-Side. These new additions will further flesh out the world of the idol-centric story.

  • Masaaki Mizunaka as Wataru Fujita
  • Takako Honda as Izumi Shiraishi
  • Saya Fukuzumi as Yuina
  • Yurika Hirayama as Riko

These cast members join the previously announced main cast, which includes Saori Hayami as Utage Kinoshita, Kakeru Hatano as Tamon Fukuhara, Shōya Chiba as Ōri Sakaguchi, Tasuku Hatanaka as Keito Tachibana, Kōhei Amasaki as Natsuki Ishibashi, and Ryuuho Nagaoka as Rintarō Kai.

Expanding the Production Team: New Staff Revealed

Beyond the voice cast, the first promotional video also brought to light several key staff members who will be contributing to the animation and overall production of the series at J.C. Staff.

Key Animation and Design Roles

Mitsuru Chiba and Airi Tsuyuki have been announced as Chief Animation Directors, working alongside Yōko Itō, who also serves as Character Designer and Chief Animation Director. Moe Fujii is taking on the role of Prop Designer, while Makoto Yoshigaki is responsible for 2D Design.

Visual and Aural Direction

The anime’s visual aesthetics will be shaped by Li Yu as Art Director and Ayaka Momma as CG Director, with Soyaka Aoyagi serving as Compositing Director of Photography and Miho Kimura as Color Key Artist. For the audio experience, Takashi Ōmama and Natsumi Tabuchi are handling the music composition. Fumihiko Ōtera is the Sound Director, with Sachiko Nishi on Sound Effects and Rie Tanaka overseeing Sound Production. Michi Takigawa is credited with Editing.

“Supernova” Ignites as First Insert Song

The promotional video offered a first listen to “Supernova,” an insert song performed by the in-story idol group F/ace. This track is set to be featured as a coupling song on F/ace’s second single, “F/ACE OFF,” which will be released on October 20. Another song by F/ACE, titled “F/ACE OFF,” was previously released in a music video in June 2025.

Anime Production and Release Details

Tamon’s B-Side is directed by Chika Nagaoka at J.C. Staff. Chiaki Nagai is responsible for both writing and overseeing the series scripts. The anime is produced by a collaborative effort involving Shochiku, King Records, and Hakusensha.

The anime is based on Yuki Shiwasu’s manga, Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?, which has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine since October 2021. Viz Media holds the English language license for the manga. The story follows Utage Kinoshita, a devoted fan of idol Tamon Fukuhara, who discovers his insecure true self and vows to support him. The series is anticipated to debut in January 2026.
