Fans of the heartwarming romantic comedy anime, “The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten” (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsu no Ma ni ka Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken), can mark their calendars as Season 2 is officially slated to premiere on April 3, 2026. The highly anticipated return of Amane Fujimiya and Mahiru Shiina’s blossoming relationship will air at 10:30 PM JST on TOKYO MX and other networks.
The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new key visual, building excitement for the continuation of the beloved series.
What to Expect in Season 2
The second season will delve deeper into the evolving dynamic between the titular “angel” Mahiru Shiina and her seemingly ordinary neighbor, Amane Fujimiya. The first season captivated audiences with its gentle portrayal of their everyday romance, as Mahiru, the school’s most beautiful and popular girl, began to care for the unkempt Amane after a chance encounter involving an umbrella. Their initial interactions grew into a supportive and intimate bond, with Mahiru frequently cooking and cleaning for Amane, spoiling him rotten in the process.
Season 2 is expected to continue exploring their journey as they navigate their increasingly close relationship, moving beyond the initial stages of their unique cohabitation. Trailers and key visuals suggest new developments, including Mahiru being seen outside the apartment, hinting at trips or outings discussed in the first season.
Returning Cast and Crew with a New Director
Studio Project No. 9, which animated the first season, will return for the second installment. While the core staff, including series composer Keiichiro Ochi and character designer Takayuki Noguchi, are reprising their roles, there will be a change in direction. Chihiro Kumano will take over as director for Season 2, replacing Lihua Wang.
The familiar voices that brought the characters to life will also be returning, much to the delight of fans:
- Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina
- Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya
- Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akazawa
- Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa
- Hisako Kanemoto as Shihoko Fujimiya
