Fans of the popular fantasy series The Beginning After the End can mark their calendars: the highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation is slated to premiere in April 2026. A new key visual and a teaser trailer for the upcoming season were recently revealed, generating excitement among the global fanbase.

Teaser Trailer and Key Visual Hint at New Adventures

The newly released teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the next chapter of Arthur Leywin’s journey, showcasing fresh animation and hinting at the increased stakes and challenges awaiting the protagonist. Alongside the trailer, a new key visual was also unveiled, providing a vibrant look at the upcoming season’s aesthetic and potentially new characters or settings. These reveals build anticipation for the continuation of the story, which promises bigger battles and new foes, as teased by creator TurtleMe.

Production Details and Returning Team

Studio A-CAT, which animated the first season, will return to handle the animation production for The Beginning After the End Season 2. Keitaro Motonaga is directing the series, with Takamitsu Kōno in charge of series composition, Masami Sueoka designing the characters, and Keiji Inai composing the music. This continuity in the production team suggests a consistent artistic vision for the anime’s continuation.

The main voice cast is also expected to reprise their roles, including Natsumi Fujiwara as Arthur Leywin, Makoto Furukawa as Grey, Kana Ichinose as Tessia Eralith, Chiaki Omigawa as Jasmine Flamesworth, Gen Sato as Elijah Knight, and Shoya Chiba as Lucas Wykes.

Exclusive Streaming on Crunchyroll

For international viewers, Crunchyroll will exclusively stream the second season of The Beginning After the End. Crunchyroll previously streamed the first season and has been instrumental in bridging the creative vision with global reach, as noted by author TurtleMe. This ensures that fans worldwide will have access to the new episodes as they air.

The Journey of Arthur Leywin: A Reborn King

The Beginning After the End (also known as TBATE) tells the story of King Grey, a powerful monarch who, after a mysterious death, is reborn as Arthur Leywin in a magical continent called Dicathen. Retaining his past life’s wisdom and experience, Arthur navigates his new life as a child, mastering magic and striving to correct past mistakes and forge a path filled with purpose. The narrative explores themes of reincarnation, growth, redemption, and the search for one’s true calling in a world brimming with fantastical creatures and elemental magic.

The series originated as an American web novel written by TurtleMe (Brandon Lee) and illustrated by Fuyuki23, which began serialization in 2015. A webtoon adaptation, also illustrated by Fuyuki23, followed in 2018. The anime adaptation of the highly popular web novel and webtoon premiered its first season from April to June 2025.

Looking Ahead: Fan Expectations for Season 2

The first season garnered significant attention, and the announcement of a second season has been met with both excitement and discussion among fans. Creator TurtleMe has expressed gratitude to the extensive team involved in the anime’s production and acknowledged the “massive endeavor” of adapting the series. With the second season slated for April 2026, fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of Arthur’s adventures and the expansion of the richly detailed fantasy world.
