The upcoming anime adaptation of Ippei Nara’s fantasy manga, “The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer” (also known as 29-Sai Dokushin Chūken Bōkensha no Nichijō), has added Haruka Shiraishi and Yasunori Matsumoto to its voice cast. The announcement was made on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, revealing their roles as the chicken beast father and daughter duo, Cockdole and Cocko. The series is slated to premiere in January 2026 and will be streamed exclusively on Crunchyroll.
New Voices Join the Adventure
Haruka Shiraishi, known for her roles in “Clevatess: Majuu no Ou to Akago to Shikabane no Yuusha,” will lend her voice to Cocko, a chicken beast girl who harbors aspirations of becoming a scholar. Joining her is veteran voice actor Yasunori Matsumoto, recognized for his work in “SK∞,” who will portray Cockdole, Cocko’s father. This latest casting announcement adds further depth to the ensemble for the highly anticipated fantasy series.
A Glimpse into the Plot: From Solitary Life to Unexpected Companionship
“The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer” follows Hajime Shinonome, an adventurer who has cultivated a peaceful and solitary existence in Komai Village after a challenging childhood spent in the slums. His quiet life takes an unforeseen turn during a quest when he encounters a young girl named Rirui, partially consumed by a slime in a dungeon. Unable to leave her, Hajime brings Rirui back to the village, and their lives become intertwined. The narrative blends cozy storytelling with adventurous elements, exploring themes of companionship, healing, and purpose within a magical world.
Hajime Shinonome and Rirui’s Journey
The story is based on Ippei Nara’s manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in January 2016. As of September 2025, the manga has been compiled into 20 tankōbon volumes. The anime aims to capture the heartwarming essence of the original work, showcasing the evolving relationship between the seasoned adventurer and the innocent young girl.
Production Details and Previously Announced Cast
The anime adaptation is produced by HORNETS and directed by Riki Fukushima. Yoshihiro Nagamori is responsible for character designs, while Akinari Suzuki, Johannes Nilsson, and Manami Takamoto are composing the music. HoneyWorks will perform both the opening theme song, “Kimi ga Tomoshite Kureta Hikari o Ima” (featuring Hanon), and the ending theme song, “Kimi no Tonari wa Kūki ga Oishii” (featuring Kotoha).
